What is the Start Strong Funding?
The Start Strong Preschool Fee Relief Program is by the NSW Government to support
families accessing affordable and quality preschool education for children. A strong
beginning in early childhood learning can ensure children make the best possible start
in life, with a successful transition to school and beyond.
All Golden Seeds locations are eligible for enrolled families to apply for this funding.
Eligibility & How much will I received?
NSW children enrolled in preschool who are 3 years old on or before 31 July 2024 can
receive funding for one service. No residency or visa requirement applies to the fee
relief.
For eligible children aged 4 and above, families can save up to $2,110 a year.
For eligible children aged 3, families can save up to $500 a year.
The fee relief will be passed on to the service and applied as a weekly deduction on your
accounts.
How can I apply?
Golden Seeds will provide you with a declaration form to complete with your child’s
information so you can return it to us. Families are required to nominate the long
daycare service they would like to receive the fee relief, as the fee relief can only be
received at one service.
Will it impact my Child Care Subsidy (CCS) payment?
Receiving Start Strong Funding does not impact your CCS payment, it is an additional
payment by the Australian Government.
What happens if my child missed an enrolled day?
If your child is sick and does not attend on one of their attendance day, your weekly fee
relief amount does not change.
